♣ The Student Workshop is organized by the GLEON Student Association (GSA), oriented for students and post-docs. ALL/non-students/postdocs are welcome to register and participate.

» Travel Information 

By Air: the G14 host team advises you please book your flights to Dublin (DUB) or Knock (NOC) airport. 

For arrival on Sunday 14 October and Monday 15 October
Dublin (DUB): the organised coach leaves at 1pm for Mulranny. Meet at the tourist info desk area at Terminal 1.
Knock (NOC): the organised coach leaves at 5pm for Mulranny. Look for a GLEON sign at the arrival area.

Please check the slides below for organised coach information and options between the airports and the G14 venue Mulranny Park Hotel (see Lodging section on this page). Take the 5~6 hours of ground transportation time into consideration when finalizing your air itinerary before you fill out the registration form.

The GLEON 14 hosts cordially invite you to explore West Ireland, around County Mayo off the Atlantic for walking, hiking, fishing, cycling and various opportunities to experience the Great Western Greenway. See the brief of highlights and local websites for more information (pdf).

» Lodging Information

Lodging at Mulranny Park Hotel (MPH) is reserved by host team and Grace Hong according to your G14 Registration. The group reservation (80 EUR per person per day all meals and lodging inclusive) starts from 14 Oct through 19 or 20 Oct (check-out). If you wish to extend your stay please contact MPH directly. If you need lodging prior to 13 Oct, MPH has no availability, please see the list of alternative local B&Bs and make your own arrangement.

From west to east, the five marks on the map below indicate:

  • G14 venue: MPH
  • Marine Institute, Furnance & Burrishoole research facilities. 
  • Westport (train or bus here after arrival at Dublin Airport; the G14 host team is arranging pick-ups from Westport) 
  • Ireland West Airport Knock (code: NOC)
