GLEON 21 Registration

Registration

GLEON 21 All Hands’ Meeting registration has now closed. For questions about late registration, see contacts listed below.

  1. Complete the GLEON 21 Online Registration no later than Friday, August 30th, 2019 (by 5:00 PM US EDT or 21:00 GMT).
  2. Secure a reservation at Deerhurst Resort by Friday, September 30th, 2019. See the Venue & Accommodation and Budget Your Travel pages for more information. You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring spouses, partners, family members or guests at your own expense.

Registration fees

Beginning in 2019, a registration fee will be charged for GLEON meetings. For G21, the registration fee is $200 USD for senior members (faculty/scientists/other) and $150 USD for early career scientists (graduate students and postdoctoral researchers). For anyone for whom the registration fee would pose a financial obstacle in attending the G21 meeting, you are encouraged to contact the GLEON co-chairs to find a solution: Bas Ibelings (Bastiaan.Ibelings [at] unige.ch) and Lisette de Senerpont Domis (l.desenerpontdomis [at] nioo.knaw.nl).

Please note: For those who referred to preliminary cost estimates on the G21 website for the full cost of participation, the actual cost of the meeting package plus registration is about the same price as what was estimated for early career scientists (graduate students and postdocs) and ~$50 USD more than what was estimated for senior members (faculty, scientists and other).

Bring your registration and hotel reservation confirmation with you

Please bring a printed copy of your G21 registration, payment receipt, and hotel reservation confirmation to the meeting or save them on your phone/mobile device. Payment for other activities and expenses can be made onsite. Visa, MasterCard, and cash (CAN dollars) are all accepted, except where noted in the meeting materials.

A: All attendees are required to secure their own reservation with a credit card by Friday, September 30th, 2019 to qualify for conference pricing. Please indicate "GLEON meeting" when booking. One night's stay will be initially charged to the card, with the balance for the full meeting package charged seven days prior to your arrival, unless you notify the resort of any changes. Attendees that have been notified by GLEON that arrangements are being made for you (i.e., students receiving travel awards) do not need to book a room.

A: Visit the Venue & Accommodations and Budget Your Travel pages on this GLEON 21 meeting website for information.

Q: What meals are included in the meeting package?
A: The meeting package for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights will cover overnight accommodations and all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, 2 breaks) for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. For attendees arriving on Sunday or Monday evening, dinner on the night of your arrival is included in the package. Breakfast on Friday morning is also included in the package. Attendees and guests will be on their own for meals starting with lunch on Friday.

A: Yes, local organizers and the GLEON Student Association (GSA) can help attendees find a roommate (no guarantees). Please indicate if you need help finding a roommate when registering for the meeting or contact Lisa Borre (borrel [at] caryinstitute.org).
