GLEON becomes DataONE Member Node

10 March 2015

GLEON joins the DataONE federation as its 26th Member node.

As GLEON's members submit data to the repository, that data will become available via its DataONE Member Node to other researchers, enabling richer scientific discovery. More information about DataONE Member Nodes can be found at https://www.dataone.org/current-member-nodes.

To search for data provided by GLEON members, visit the GLEON specific portalhttps://poseidon.limnology.wisc.edu/metacatui/   >

About GLEON: GLEON is primarily a network of people with more than 500 members in 50+ countries and growing rapidly. About 30 percent of the members are students who belong to the GLEON Student Association (GSA), a vital part of the global network. GLEON is a network of lakes with more than 60 lake observatories across six continents. GLEON is also a network of data, including high frequency data gathered from sensors mounted on research buoys that are deployed in lakes across the globe. GLEON is the leading organization devoted to the study of lakes and reservoirs, and serves as a model for grassroots international research collaboration.

About DataONE: DataONE enables universal access to data and also facilitates researchers in fulfilling their need for data management by providing secure and permanent access to their data. DataONE offers the scientific community a suite of tools and training materials that cover all aspects of the data life cycle from data collection, to management, analysis and publication.
