SUMMARY:Data Analysis R Training Limnoseries August-November 2026
DESCRIPTION:The GLEON Student Association (GSA) is launching a free\, open-to-all Data Analysis Training series using R\, no prerequisites required. Our goal is to make this essential research skill accessible to the whole community. \nThe series consists of 6 workshops\, running from August 5th to November 6th (every 2–3 weeks)\, progressing from beginner fundamentals to more advanced techniques. The full schedule is listed below: \n\nBeginR: Introduction to R for basic data analysis and visualization by Josh Culpepper\, Aug 5\, 13:00 UTC\nHypothesis Testing: reasoning and practice of statistical hypothesis testing for ecologists\, from foundational concepts through study design and influence by Diego Pujoni\, Aug 26 at 13:00 UTC\nTime Series Analysis by Max Glines\, Sep 7 at 13:00 UTC\nApplied Multivariate Statistics by Diego Pujoni\, Sep 23 at 13:00 UTC\nGeneralized Linear Models (GLMs): a practical introduction to GLMs and their extensions for ecological data\, covering model fitting\, evaluation\, comparison\, and interpretation by Diego Pujoni\, Oct 28 at 14:00 UTC\nMaking Your Code Reproducible with GitHub and Other Tools by Abby Lewis\, Nov 5 at 14:00 UTC\n\nFree & Open to Everyone\nInformation about individual workshop details and registration links will be posted to the events calendar a few weeks ahead of each session. \nPlease feel free to share this invitation with colleagues\, students\, or institutions who might benefit from this training. \nA heartfelt thank you to all our GLEON volunteer teachers\, whose generosity and expertise make this initiative possible and help spread knowledge and support across our network and beyond. \nWe hope to see you there!\nGSA workshop sub-committee

SUMMARY:Data Analysis Limnoseries Training - Part 1
DESCRIPTION:We’re kicking things off  the Data Analysis Training Series on the 5th of August 15h CEST\, 13h UTC (1h duration) with: \nBeginR: Introduction to R for basic data analysis and visualization\nPresented by Joshua Culpepper\nIn this workshop\, you will walk through the basics of using R and R Studio to import a dataset\, conduct some basic data cleaning\, and visualize your data. This workshop will teach you the essential steps to start exploring your data both analytically and visually. This workshop assumes no prior knowledge of R. \nPrior to the workshop: \nYou should download both the latest versions of R and R Studio to ensure that the code works properly. Here is a link to help you: \nhttps://rstudio-education.github.io/hopr/starting.html \nBecause this is a beginner workshop\, bring questions so that you can get the most out of this workshop. \nIf you would like to attend this workshop or receive the recording\, please fill in the following registration form: https://forms.gle/rg5nCyvKKSU68Zsk9 \nPlease sign up for this workshop by August 1st.
