GLEON 20

GLEON 20 All Hands' Meeting, 37 December 2018, Rottnest Island (near Perth), Australia

The GLEON 20 All Hands’ Meeting heads "down-under" to Rottnest Island, which sits just offshore from the city of Perth, in Western Australia, from 3-7 December 2018. The island is a protected nature reserve and home to the quokka, a small wallaby-like marsupial. White-sand beaches and secluded coves include the Basin, with its shallow waters, and Thomson Bay, the main hub and ferry port. Strickland Bay is known for its surf breaks, while reef breaks occur at Radar Reef, off the island's far western tip. The Island is 19km from the city of Fremantle.

The island also features a series of protected saline lakes that exhibit interesting ecohydrology and local biodiversity.

The GLEON 20 meeting will be hosted by Matt Hipsey, The University of Western Australia, and Justin Brookes, The University of Adelaide.
