GLEON 2022 Registration

Registration is now open! Please follow this link to register for the meeting:

Please note that you also need to make reservations at Silver Bay YMCA to attend the meeting. For more information, see the Venue & Accommodation page.

Registration Fee
Due to financial and other uncertainties with planning and attending meetings duing the coronavirus pandemic, the GLEON Steering Committee is proposing a new registration fee structure to allow attendees to select the fee most appropriate to their situation and allow meeting organizers the ability to establish a reserve fund to deal with contingencies. Limited registration support is available upon request (see below).

The registration fee options are as follows:

  • $200 (e.g., for graduate students and others applying for travel or registration support from GLEON)
  • $300 (e.g., for those with limited research or travel funding)
  • $400 (e.g., for senior researchers with funding available to cover full registration costs)

There is no added fee for pre-meeting workshops.

Meeting Code of Conduct
Attendees must follow the GLEON Meeting Code of Conduct, which has been updated to include reference to COVID 19 Safety Protocols (see below).
COVID 19 Safety Protocols
Everyone who registers for and attends the GLEON 2022 meeting must follow the COVID 19 Safety Protocols established by the GLEON Steering Committee:
Hybrid/Virtual Meeting Options
The GLEON 2022 Meeting at Lake George is being planned as primarily an in-person meeting, so hybrid/virtual meeting options will be limited during the week of the meeting.
  • The Program Committee has opted to plan a second virtual meeting early in 2023 to allow for online participation. Mark your calendar for another GLEON Virtual Meeting planned for the week of February 13th, 2022. This will be an online opportunity for working group meetings and other virtual meeting sessions.
  • Working Group moderators and Ad hoc Group leaders will be encouraged to engage with members remotely and asynchronously during the GLEON 2022 meeting, as interest and logistics allow.
Registration Support
For anyone for whom the registration fee would pose a financial obstacle in attending the GLEON virtual meeting, you can apply to GLEON for support (or a waiver) to cover this cost. Normally this is done during the pre-registration process, but you can also make a request by checking a box at the end of the meeting registration form. There are no geographical or career-stage restrictions on who can apply for support for this meeting, but limited funding is available and emphasis will be placed on creating opportunities for early career scientists.
Travel Support
If you are no longer a student but would like to apply for travel support, you can use the Student Travel Support application or indicate the need for support during registration. See instructions in the FAQs below. Information will be posted to the meeting website as it is available.
Because we had to move the location of the meeting in 2022 after the pre-registration for the Poland venue had already closed, we are not requiring pre-registration for the new location at Lake George, NY. Meeting registration will open in August 2022.
Q: Can postdoctoral researchers and other early career scientists apply for travel support if they are no longer a student?
A: If you are early career and no longer a student, you can use the Student Travel Support application form to apply for travel support. Just select "no" on the question about whether this is a new application to skip the document upload section, which is only required for students requesting support. The application link and information about deadlines can be found on the Information for Students page.
Q: How do I apply for registration support or a waiver?
A: You can indicate whether you need registration support (or a waiver of the fee) on the registration form. You should check the box for registration support at the end of the registration form, submit your registration and then skip the payment step. GLEON will contact you to let you know if the support request is approved. For questions, contact Lisette de Senerpont Domis or Lisa Borre.
