A comparison of DO and chl fluorescence maxima in profile data across lake types and seasons (GREEN)

There is a presumption that chlorophyll and DO peaks in vertical profiles should align, but it is often observed that they do not.  This project will investigate the conditions  under which they are decoupled, and explore why they do, or do not, align and the processes that drive this decoupling.  The processes that could contribute include mixing events, sinking vs growth, active physiological control, and entrainment.
