Vulnerability of Reservoirs to Climate Change

The aim of this project is to elaborate a comprehensive review of the chemical, physical and ecological functioning of reservoir systems, how they differ from natural lake systems, and how they respond to threats, particularly climate changes, with the aim of identifying adaptation strategies and mitigation measures for reservoir management. This project was initiated at the GLEON 18 meeting in Gaming, Austria, a joint meeting with NETLAKE, GLEON's sister network in Europe. This project is being led by: Patricia Oliveira Antunes, Centre for Freshwater and Environmental Studies, Dundalk Institute of Technology, Ireland, and Dusan Kostić, Jaroslav Černi Institute for the Development of Water Resources, Serbia.
