Date and time: 25 November 2026, 15:00 UTC

Link to register

This interactive seminar explores how communication shapes academic culture and inclusion in science. Drawing on the diverse experiences of researchers in Freshwater Sciences, we will examine different forms of discrimination and biases, and how communication can contribute to creating or reinforcing them. We will then introduce the principles of inclusive scientific communication, focusing on how language, approach, visual elements, leadership, and interpersonal interactions influence the way communication is received in different cultural, social, and gender contexts. Through case studies, participants will identify barriers and develop practical tools for more inclusive research and teaching.

The webinar is open to all GLEON members, at every career stage. We warmly encourage you to join and to share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested.

If you have any questions, please contact us at the email listed below.
