Presented by Daniel Chilton
Shallow lakes and lagoons typically exist in either an ecologically healthy, clear water state, or a degraded turbid water state. Wind-induced sediment resuspension can be important in maintaining a shallow lagoon in a degraded state. This presentation examines how wind-induced sediment resuspension contributes to the degraded state of the Coorong, South Australia, a shallow coastal lagoon of high ecological, social and economic importance.
